"My aim in writing has always been to reveal the lives of hard working, rarely happy small town people and peasants, to bring them to a certain level of awareness. I have always remained socialist in ideology, realist in art. I believe that only by writing as realistically as possible can one reveal the woes of our people and the bitter realities of our society, and suggest a solution to them. My works often contain folk sayings and dialects. I am convinced that they help my people read me much more easily while my work can thus adhere to the traditional framework of our literature."
